Shire of Bitter End

The Shire of Bitter End is the Red Deer based branch of the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA). The SCA is a group dedicated to recreating medieval times. Members dressed in pre-1700s clothes of every culture participate in medieval fighting, archery, horseback riding, arts and sciences, and feasts.  

Fight practices are held most Thursdays evenings at 7. Locations may vary. Please contact the Earl Marshal, Seneschal or the Facebook group for further information. 

Feast Guild meets once a month, during the winter. Exact times, dates and locations vary. Please contact the Seneschal or the Facebook group for further information.

Business meetings happen every second Monday of the month. The next one is happening on August 13. For more information, contact the seneschal at

The next scheduled activity will be the January business meeting, on the afternoon of Sunday Jan 13, 2019 in Sylvan Lake. Contact the Seneschal for more info.

Fight practices are on hiatus until after Jan. 13, 2019. 

SILVER ARROW 2019: The Shire is seeking bids from persons interested in acting as event steward for our spring event, to be held Saturday, April 13, 2019. The focal point of the event is the annual Silver Arrow Archery tournament.

Bids must be submitted by December 20 2018, and the successful bid will be announced, at the latest, by the end of January.
